Binge-Watch Worthy TV Shows

Who knew we’d still be talking about Coronavirus in November 2020? But, 11 months later, here we are, trying to survive through the second wave of COVID-19, some of you may choose to continue living your best life, while the other half are still pretty cautious about this whole pandemic situation. I fit into the latter category and one way that I’ve been keeping it together while seeing everyone on Instagram go out and about is through binge-watching tv shows. If whichever country in the world you live in is facing a lockdown/potential lockdown, then here’s a list of tv shows that have helped me maintain my sanity throughout the pandemic.

1. BIG LITTLE LIES

A powerful tv show that people through all walks of life and cultures can relate to. We get to see how people protect their partners even after they hurt them, over and over again. Love truly is blind but friendships are greater, that’s a great lesson I took from this; friends that are like family, there’s no greater happiness in the world that having true and genuine friendships. Also, the combination of Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Zoe Kravitz and Laura Dern is JUST M A G I C.

2. THE HANDMAIDS TALE

The other Reem introduced me to this show and I have been hooked ever since, it’s so unjust but so good! It’s scary to think how relatable it actually is to our real life but I bet it’ll keep you on your toes e v e r y single episode! Highly recommend this!

3. EUPHORIA

Anyone else team Zendaya for life? Count me in. Even though I’m not a teenager anymore, this is suuuuuuch a good show! So many characters and so many different personalities, it’s a bit hard to keep up with them all but that’s what makes it so much fun to watch. The show explores the role social media has in our life, drug abuse and familial relationships, I know that this show has gained the success that it has because it we can all somehow relate to atleast one of the characters. Plus I love Zendaya and anything she’s a part of is truly amazing.

4. GAME OF THRONES

Please. Start. Watching. It. Today.

5. GREY’S ANATOMY

Grey’s Anatomy has lasted for ages and I can’t see it going away anytime soon. I’ve been a big fan since day one and honestly the only complaint I have about this show is that we get so attached to characters, that end up getting killed or moving to different cities. It hurts my heart to let go of my favourite characters but I shan’t complain any further. A MUST WATCH!

6. KILLING EVE

It’s funny that everyone watches this show because they have a crush on a killer. But that’s what happens when the character is funny, has an amazing sense of fashion, and takes light of the most serious situations, also, we can’t help but feel bad for her for her craving of love. This is a show which I hope goes on forever and then some because honestly I cannot get enough of just how funny Villanelle is.

7. THE CROWN

I think the whole world is fascinated with the British Royal Family, and so am I. Princess Diana has captured my heart and the hearts of millions of people around the world. Such beauty and grace, yet suffering from an unimaginable amount of pain that we were all unaware of. Can’t wait for season 4 so we can get a glimpse into Diana’s life when she first meets Charles!

8. YOU

Another show about a psychopath which somehow captivated the world. I guess it’s the only way we can see them up close and understand their personality, what drives them, what makes them who they are and what the purpose is behind their actions. To me, it’s so interesting to see how everything falls together and how death results in love (spoiler alert!), another must watch, also, if you love Gossip Girl and Dan then this is another show you would love.

9. EMILY IN PARIS

This is the perfect escape from reality, it’s so light-hearted and really is the perfect show to watch especially when you are feeling down and lousy. I think one of the many reasons this show has gained so much worldwide attention in very little time is because all us girls feel like we’re living our life through Emily and fascinating about our next holiday to Paris once the pandemic is over and done with.
