Decluttering Your Mind By Being Organized

I’m only writing this because I like to think of myself as a neat and organised person. There are a few bits and tips of organisation that have helped me maintain a somewhat organised life that I’d like to share with you all. Some of you may not agree that there is a correlation between the clutter in our minds and our organisation of our daily life but I personally find that it has helped reduce my stress and just make me feel at ease throughout busy work schedules.

1. TO DO LISTS

Seems tedious but it’s soooo rewarding. With studying/working I usually write a weekly to do list and I amend it along the way when new tasks pop up, I usually write the list starting from what’s a priority and working my way down the list. You’ll be together how much more put together this will make your life overall.

When my upcoming week is super hectic and I have a lot of things to do which I can’t afford to delay or postpone, I do a weekly schedule, seems a bit obsessive but of course you don’t have to abide by your list, it will just help guide you through your week. Plus, nothing feels better than ticking everything (or almost) off of your to do list at the end of a long day! When I am super stressed I will even go so far as to add time slots in my to do list, but occurrence is very rare and only happens when I am under so much pressure, typically when I was at university and I had to schedule my study sessions + cooking + laundry etc.

2. CALENDARS CALEDNARS CALENDARS

Whether you’re old school and like to have a hard copy calendar or simply prefer your phones calendar, knowing what day of the week it is and the date will naturally keep you on your toes (in a good way).

If writing a to-do list feels a bit exaggerated to you then maybe write what your main task of the day is on your calendar, this way you’ll be on top of things and shall not fall behind on your important tasks or errands of the day.

3. ROUTINES

Routines are boring. But sometimes necessary when you’re a student or employee. I stick to my routines during the weekday because I just feel that it helps with the flow of my week, whether I run errands during my lunch break or after I find it better to know exactly what you are doing around your work schedule.
