There’s no better way to invest your money, than in skincare! That’s what I think atleast. Dr.Barbara Sturm’s skincare products are on the pricey side, but it’s honestly worth the investment if you are looking to achieve clear skin. Ofcourse, this can only take place with consistency and a lot of patience. I’ve heard a few of my friends complaining that their skincare products just aren’t doing it for them, but that’s only because they use it for one week and expect instant results. Patience is a virtue folks.
My daytime skincare routine and night time skincare routine slightly differ:
MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE:
Wash face using La Prairie foam cleanser;
Kiehl's Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion;
Sun drops SPF 50 - Dr Barbara Sturm;
Face cream light - Dr Barbara Sturm.
NIGHT TIME SKINCARE ROUTINE:
Wash face using La Prairie foam cleanser;
Toner - PIXI Glow Tonic;
Clarifying serum - Dr Barbara Sturm;
Clarifying face cream - Dr Barbara Sturm;
Kiehl's Avocado eye cream.
Personally, I’ve struggled to find the ultimate solution for acne, I’ve tried every facial and skincare line out there and Dr.Barbara Sturm did not disappoint. Below is a list of the products I have purchased and the best times to apply them!
CLARIFYING MASK
Dr. Sturm's Clarifying Mask is an anti-aging face mask especially for blemished skin. The active ingredient complex of balloon vine, viper's bugloss and sunflower in the clarifying mask directly improves the skin's barrier properties and helps to restore its natural balance. The mask smooths fine lines and wrinkles in demanding skin and supplies plenty of moisture. Regular use normalises the appearance of the skin and removes blemishes effectively. For more even, clear skin.
The consistency of this mask is just amazing. The formula is so light and it feels like you are applying moisturiser on your face for a period of 10-15 minutes. To remove it simply wash your face with water, and you’ll see that you can wash it off gently as the mask will just slide off. A thin layer is sufficient for full coverage of your skin! For optimal results, I’d highly recommend using it once-twice a week with consistent use of the Clarifying Serum and Clarifying Face Cream. Thank me later.
CLARIFYING SERUM
Dr. Sturm's Clarifying Serum is an anti-aging serum especially for blemished skin. The active ingredient complex from albatrellus ovinus in the clarifying serum alleviates skin sensitivity and redness - for an instant calming effect. The serum smooths fine lines and wrinkles in demanding skin and supplies plenty of moisture. Regular use normalises the appearance of the skin and removes blemishes effectively. Fore more even, clear skin.
A small amount goes a long way. In my night-time routine I usually apply 3-5 drops of the serum and pat it on to the areas where I feel I need it the most – which is my cheeks, from there, whatever excess of the serum I still have on my hands I pat around the remaining areas (forehead, chin). Use it regularly every night before bed to see the results you are looking for and you will be surprised to see the difference in acne scars. I recommend taking a before & after picture to make the comparison!
CLARIFYING FACE CREAM

Include this as part of your night-time routine. Cleanse and wash your face, remove impurities with a toner, then apply the serum followed by the Clarifying Face Cream. Applying the serum and face cream together is what, I think, has helped me get almost clear and blemish free skin (almost because I need to use it for a little while longer for optimal results!). The cream is very light and a small amount can easily be spread around your skin, remember, less is more.
SUN DROPS SPF 50
This light-textured sun serum for the face provides intensive SPF 50 protection, thanks to the balanced combination of UVA and UVB filters. Enriched with an active complex of purslane, hyaluronic acid, vitamin E and beta glucan, the serum helps the skin to boots its defenses against UV-induced skin damage, and promotes skin regeneration. The serum is particularly suitable for sensitive skin.
Application: Apply sunscreen liberally before sun exposure. Applying an insufficient amount of sunscreen will reduce the level of sun protection (i.e. the SPF) indicated.
Most SPF’s leave you looking washed out and in need of a tan. When you first apply this onto your skin, you may think the same of it as it’s a yellow pastel SPF, but don’t judge too quick – it spreads thoroughly over your skin and it won’t leave you looking oily for the rest of your day. After using a toner, this is my second step to my daytime routine.
FACE CREAM LIGHT
This exclusive 24h Face Cream Light, with a particularly light texture, provides intensive moisture to the skin. The series active ingredients used by Dr. Sturm, purslane, activates the skin's own antioxidant system and protects the sensitive cell membranes from attacks by free radicals. An active ingredient combination of ginger, bisabolol and panthenol moisturises and calms irritated areas of the skin. Vegetable lipids maintain moisture and boost regeneration so the skin retains its vitality and youthful radiance.

FACE MASK
An intensive mask for extra moisture and smoothness. Contains extracts of aloe vera and chamomile to supply moisture and calm stressed skin. Purslance, the beauty ingredient developed specially for this product range by Dr. Sturm, nourishes and protects. In addition, Kaolin, which is also known as China Clay, lends silky soft smoothness and suppleness to the skin.
CLEANSER
Thorough cleansing is the ideal preparation for effective skincare. Without it, active skincare ingredients cannot be optimally absorbed or used by the skin. The soft and fine foam of the cleanser provides gentle, deep cleansing without upsetting the skin's natural moisture balance.
FACIAL SCRUB
The refining Facial Scrub removes dead skin cells, dirt and excess sebum, and encourages skin regeneration. Purslane, the key cosmetic ingredient Dr. Sturm uses in the series, as well as Vitamin A and Panthenol, support the recovery process of the epidermis and the skin's natural protective function. For a complexion that instantly looks smoother, more vibrant and balanced.
To be used once a week. I spend atleast 3-4 minutes scrubbing my face with this Facial Scrub(gently), about 3 minutes in I can already feel the difference in my skin, it feels soooo smooth. This may be my favourite product from Dr. Barbara Sturm because nothing is more satisfying than scrubbing your face and removing all the impurities.
